I’m talking about the website, not myself! Well, it has been about 24 hours since I made the last cache and image optimization setting change. So far, it looks like things are behaving themselves. All pictures are loading in all browsers I’ve tested and on all operating systems I use (Windows, Linux, and Android on phone and tablet).
Something strange has come to mind, Microsoft Edge seems to behave differently on two different computers. Both computers are Lenovo ThinkPads. One is in the E series and one is in the P series. Edge and Chrome installed on the P16 don’t show changes for an hour or so while Firefox gets changes right away. On the E16, all browsers show changes right away. Firefox on Linux updates right away. I’ve currently uninstalled other browsers on Linux as it does everything I want.
Here’s a random picture in a 50/50 two column test. Maybe things can become “real” posts instead of endless testing. That is, unless there’s a new feature that I want to experiment with………
I’m trying to pick from the pictures that didn’t want to display as a result of the misbehaving plugins.
I have over a thousand hummingbird pictures I’ve taken, but I promise to not try to show them all.

It is surprising that the “ready to go” installation of WordPress has so many gotchas. You would think that somebody would try things out first before making an image for installation. The clashing features were actually default settings buried in the depths of several menus. One repeat issue was only resolved by completely removing the offending plugin (I’ll give its name: Jetpack) since it insisted upon reactivating features I turned off after discovering they were causing problems. My hosting account includes CDN and it wanted to reinvent the wheel by offering its own CDN for images, which didn’t work smoothly with the already included one.
Text didn’t seem to be affected, only pictures. I am compressing certain things in JS, CSS, and HTML, but not very aggressively. The last setting change was about 24 hours ago as mentioned above. Even Dashboard pages are loading so much more quickly since getting rid of Jetpack.
Now that things seem ready for actual material, it is time to come up with something!
