Fall is coming!

This Tram CB is part of some projects described on down this post. Yes, I’m a ham radio operator, but I enjoy an occasional contact via CB with friends.

Yep, a mostly random post. Fall is starting to arrive in the Midwest. We went from temperatures in the 80s one day to the mid 60s the next. Today it stayed in the 50s. that is a good thing as since surgery and chemotherapy, I get hot and miserable very easily.

Above are two pictures of my wife’s mums our daughter gave her (us).

Since the weather is cooling down so that I can work outside without feeling overheated, there are some antenna projects to sneak in among the yardwork projects. I can now also work in my workshop and garage on several home projects. First up will be putting the Arduino controller for flashing Christmas lights in a smaller enclosure. The one I initially bought was five times larger than needed. It will come in handy for another project where its size will come in handy……at a later time.

Up for refurbishment is the Tram CB pictured above along with a Crosley tube receiver from the 1930s, another radio I forget the brand also from the 1930s, and a Hallicrafter’s multiband receiver. I plan to restore all radios back to factory original.

Things will probably not get done quickly, but it is nice having the cooler weather.

Our neighbor’s tree is turning very nicely! Hopefully our trees will be getting colorful soon as they are starting to turn a little. And…hopefully, our burning bush will put on a colorful show soon.

It’s time to hit the hay and hopefully feel up to getting outside in the morning.
