In experimenting with a different cache plugin, Microsoft Edge got broken again! Oh, Chrome, too. One post in particular, the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) coding got messed up as the software tried to reduce the amount of code used in CSS. Firefox weathers this just fine, but Microsoft Edge and Chrome got confused as usual. Hopefully, the messed up page(s) will straighten out as CDN (Content Delivery Network) refreshes itself. Last time, it took about four hours to straighten out.
At least this time only a few pages broke, last time Edge and Chrome didn’t know how to do anything on the entire site. To be honest, the caching and speed aids included with this installation of WordPress seem to do just fine in spite what the supposed benchmark apps say.
I just noticed something else….Edge and Chrome are often very delayed in getting updated material. Even clearing the cache here doesn’t help. Firefox gets the new posts, etc right away. Another win for open source!
