Yep, some days I wonder whats holding it all together like the roots in the picture. I took this picture at a bank where I was working on the drive up. After messing around with the site, I wonder if it feels like these trees. It is interesting playing with how modules and blocks interact with each other. For example, I wanted to spruce up the calendar a bit and ended up doing just the opposite. Instead of having the dates with posts stand out, they blended in completely with all the rest. Resetting the text to original colors resolved the text blending in with everything. It was a momentary puzzle as it looked just fine while the customization editor was open, but went “blah” as soon as I closed it.
In the earlier version of my website, I rewrote one of the CSS files for the theme I was using back then to have better control of looks. Now WordPress has changed things so you can simply plug in customized CSS code and that’s what I want to relearn as I’ve forgotten how to do things like this in the last couple of years. Before, if the theme updated, you lost your changes, and now they are saved elsewhere and not lost when the theme updates.
Altering text and/or background colors alter the width of the material in the sidebar…..and so it goes! Anyway, each test does provide information for personalizing the looks of the site.

Here’s a pretty picture of some fall colors from an earlier year. The test I planned didn’t work. I had written a long bit of randomness hoping the text flowed around the picture, it didn’t. Anyway, the picture is pretty.
Next is figuring out how to have the picture expand for easier documenting of a project. Forgive the grammar, I had a major headache yesterday and I guess it’s lingering minus the pain.
I know you may not see what I’m seeing in text alignment beside the picture of fall colors. It seems to simply be two columns, and text will re-flow in its column according to page width.
So, the learning experience is still slogging along. Slowly!
Speaking of the headache, I’ve had migraines since the middle 1980s. These aren’t anything new since chemotherapy, and I don’t suspect anything new going on. Thank you for understanding! As I mentioned earlier, most of my trial posts are being preserved for posterity so I can go back and review what did and did not work.
