Once again, testing, this time disabling plugins to see if there’s a conflict. It seems that there might be one between plugins. This version of WordPress comes with certain plugins and block material (for lack of a better term) that wasn’t with the version on the previous host. It is odd that the WordPress versions are the same. Maybe it is due to different hosts putting different features in their automated installations.
I’m looking forward to streamlining things when the redundancy is reduced. There are too many options in all the plugins for a simple hobby site/blog anyway.

My best buddy, Rubber.
All I can say is that it seems to be working better not that I deactivated features of a certain plugin. It seems that some plugins don’t get along with each other. They try to all do everything. Looking at the available blocks when creating a post or page can be mind boggling as there are so many. Looking at the listing, there seem to be so many duplicates that try to do the same thing, but most likely go about it in different ways.

This was right outside my bedroom window in Virginia, I’m surprised I didn’t hear it, though.
OK, I’m really trying to mess things up! this is another block from the same source, just reversed the large and narrow columns. The column widths are adjustable, if desired.
Previewing without publishing seems to show everything fine. Now, caching may throw some wrenches into the works, we’ll see! Plus it will be interesting to see how different browsers render the pages. There are differences even with Firefox as installed on Windows and Linux. Mainly, pictures, etc., are different sizes. Fonts are consistent, though.
Looking back at trials of different CMS software, this probably is going to be better for what I want to do documenting project construction. I’m sure pages created by CMS could do the same thing, but in playing around with things, it did not look anywhere as easy as here (ignoring all the false steps here!). Anyway, there will certainly be more trial posts here as I figure out what works and what doesn’t. Most of my experiments will remain posted along with the random pictures.
