Just when I think I’ve settled upon a “keeper” theme, the urge hits to swap! The two themes I’ve mentioned before each have things that I like, and things that either don’t cut the mustard, or are simply annoying.
Testing something new with this theme. It worked with the other, but I want to see that it works okay with this one. Honestly, except for one major feature and a couple minor, this theme, HybridMag, has more going for it. Most likely, plugins are available to fill most needs.
I noticed this theme is much more friendly to Gutenberg features and Google fonts. The other theme will do Google fonts….if you buy the Pro version. I did upgrade this theme to Pro, but it still was Gutenberg and Google font friendly with the free version. While the free version offered more than most, this one seems to have more to add going pro, plus the price was a lot more reasonable!

You may be wondering why there’s no real material here yet. I’m trying to avoid mixing actual website content with frequent “testing” posts. From thinking about what is written above, HybridMag (this theme) is even more at the top of the list.
Saying that, much of the fiddling around likely will consist of playing with layouts and widgets. There are tons of widgets! Actually, there are enough to get in trouble with. For example, I thought the calendar widget I selected for this theme was broken until I discovered I had two calendars going at the same time which created issues since they were not the same and they tried to go where I put them……..in the same spot……. nope, that doesn’t work!
Well, as always, don’t be surprised if something does break…..big time…..! There is a lot of testing going on behind the scenes that isn’t published, but some things need to be published for comparison.
