The theme code has been updated, the issue duplicating the featured image has been shown the curb. Soon the pages should actually be relevant, not simple “testing this & that” type pages. I’m trying to balance pages vs. posts before putting them in Published status.
I miss the “Whazzup!” feature I put on the classic legacy site. I may see what I can do here to put it on the landing page as the WordPress software I’m using is intended as blogging software. I can redo things with the classic site back, but I’m afraid of breaking something with this blog. So, anything I do to bring the classic site back to life will be linked from here. That means rewriting the links. It will take time.
I’ll probably not reopen either of the forums I used to run, however. Then again, the forum format on personal websites have advantages over using Facebook. I prefer Beehive, but it hasn’t had any updating or developing activity since around 2016. I had tweaked the forum code in Beehive to match the needs of the site, but since there has not been any updates, security would be an issue. That means if I decide to do a forum, it will most likely be phpBB, which I’m thoroughly accustomed to, too. Plus it is still under active development!
Time will tell! Anyway, this is how things stand (sit, whatever) at the moment.
