It's a Pogo kind of day here.
The train crossing down the street has been down all day, so traffic is slowing, looking, and pulling through. :O
Then the Fedex website has been down with a 'SimpleMaxThreadCount LOCKS.EXHAUSTED' error (whatever that is) for at least a couple of hours. :-(
I've also identified an intermittent connection on a board with SMT components on it. :/
Hope it's localized here!
regards,
rumbarg

While it is a bit after the 13th, I can say that it was not localized...like why I'm late getting back to spend time online...The same type of stuff went on here as well!
Being that I work with SMT both professionally now and then and as a hobby, I feel your pain!
Here's hoping that Friday the 17th will be better.
Oh, that FedEx error sounds like an SQL boo boo. This forum did much the same thing the first few times I tried to install it.
The biggest Monday 13 thing I had was a bank that had lightning run throughout the branch during a storm. Not a lot survived........ The local police department next door didn't do much better either.

Yoiks! Thunderstorms used to get me a fair bit of work, too. For years a manufacturing company around here had their computer network running RS232 signals between buildings on wiring on poles - sure did a lot of driver/receiver replacements on those. I don't think they ever had a problem with lightning getting into the power, though. I'd hate to be responsible for that bank (or the police station).
At my end, got past it all - SMT completed, Fedex shipped, train crossing cleared.
Even had a coolish thunderstormy day today, which I'm gonna call good weather, although the rain wasn't really needed that badly. I think we're around 15 inches above average for the year.
Wishing you a pleasant Friday the 17th as well,
rumbarg

Well, we had it lucky yesterday, on my first call this morning, I went through an area that had three foot diameter trees broken over, poles snapped, and fire/rescue working at a house covered in greenery. In one spot alone, this scene went on for a couple miles straight.
I bumped into a power company worker on the way to the area on ham radio and he said over 60,000 had their power knocked out.
I got the parts I need for one of the lightning related calls, that will be my first task Monday if all goes well. I'm glad I don't have to account for the other $20, 000 or so that got zapped at one location. I think the police dept had more power issues than anything else, they had repeaters for their communications, so handhelds would serve OK.
Glad to hear that things finally turned out OK on your end! We need several inches of rain to bring the water table up (but not all at once!). I've given up on the lawn (fine, no mowing!).
Speaking of trains, I passed one while going out for a call one morning, and saw it again 60 miles away a couple hours later as it went by where I had finished working! I recognized it as it had some unique tanker cars attached.
Hope you have a good weekend yourself!

It (sorry, they) was (were)!! I wish I had my camera with me...
The NWS warning zones were narrow and long, those areas took extended poundings. I'll be going back through Monday, hopefully one spot has power so I can do my job...
Here's a story on the storms, check out the lightning strike count, too!!
I'm glad it missed us, we heard rumbling, but that was it.

YOU DID THE MATH!!!! I was too lazy....
The last couple of storms we had were very active like that. One the week prior had the sky simply flickering, it looked more like a light bulb about to burn out.
I bet it would have looked cool from space!

I agree, I wouldn't want to be in the middle of it all!! Or even on the edge for that matter....
